The Wild Week is the product the homepage treated as a moral choice: five days at a desk, or five days in the North East. The towns have not moved. Bright, Beechworth, Mount Beauty and Falls Creek are still the four corners.
Victoria’s High Country (victoriashighcountry.com.au) is the public listing we use for park summaries. Resort pages override it when they disagree.
A five-day logic
Day 1 — Beechworth granite. Beechworth MTB Park is listed as open year-round: granite rock rolls, pinch climbs, switchbacks, a skills zone, jumps line, green loop, two XC loops and a gravity loop. The same listing notes the surface often rides better after rain. That makes it a good arrival day from Melbourne if the alps are still holding snow or a closure.
Day 2 — Bright / Mystic. Mystic Bike Park is listed with 20+ trails, about 450 m of elevation, year-round shuttles and on-site hire when the operator is running. Elevation’s own recommended-rides page names Hotwheels, Playground, Sugar Glider and K2 as the family start, then Rollercoaster, Tombstone, Flowmingo and the black tech of Hokey Pokey and Espresso Martini. Use their current map, not our memory.
Day 3 — Mount Beauty / Big Hill. Big Hill is described as a pioneering Victorian park with colour-named loops (Yellow, Blue, Red, Orange, Green). Navigation is part of the ride. Ask locally; do not invent a must-do ranking.
Day 4 — Falls Creek gravity. Falls Creek publishes 50 km of gravity trail, World Trail built, in Alpine National Park. Green trail is called out as more than 10 km. The stacked descent of High Voltage, Wishing Well and Flowtown is described as more than 10 km and 535 m of unbroken gravity. Skyline is a 5 km gravity trail from a 2021/22 build. Shuttles, when running, are a separate commercial service (the resort named Blue Dirt Mountain Biking on the page we read). Alpine season is typically November–April — confirm.
Day 5 — a second lap or a travel day. Repeat the park that fitted the group, or begin the drive back. The 2019 page bundled nights of accommodation. We will not name a hotel as included.
Food and beer, without a partnership claim
The archive named Sweetwater, Bright Brewery and Bridge Road Brewers. They are independent High Country businesses. Ride there if you want. We do not take a cut and we do not invent tasting notes.
